Subject: VOL RANIK

Known Aliases: None

Occupation: GCP Pilot and former pirate

Known Relatives: Sister, deceased (name unknown at this time), parents, deceased (names unknown at this time.)

Home world: ONDOON - This world is on the outer rim of the GCP territory.  Ondoon is not a member of the Coalition and is a haven for beings that do not hold law or order in high regard. Unfortunately, we do not have significant data to give an accurate report at this time.

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 195lbs

Eyes: silver/blue

Hair: Dirty Blonde/Brown.

Known Powers: Vol can absorb, amplify and project nearly all forms of energy. His powers are in their infancy and Vol prefers not to use his power. Therefore his ability to control his powers is limited. His makes use of special wristbands that help him maintain control.

Ranik must consciously make the effort to absorb energy. The process can become rather painful depending on the amount and type of energy absorbed. To project energy Ranik is equally as taxing. At this time it is not known if Vol has learned or even aware he can amplify.

It is unknown the true extent of Vol Ranik's powers. It is however, hypothesized that due to the enormous physical and mental strain, that his powers will not grow into a concern.

History:  Vol Ranik first became known to the GCP during his time as a pirate. He was the captain of a small vessel that he and his crew used to conduct illegal raid on outposts. He and his crew were extremely successful in avoiding capture. We believe that the members of his crew were all empowered and they made Ondoon their base of operations.

Ranik spent many years raiding and avoiding capture but unfortunately it ended in death. Ranik and his crew unknowingly boarded a GCP vessel that has been assaulted by the parasites. The parasite attacked and killed all of Ranik’s crew. Only Vol and his sister made it back to where their ship was docked. They thought escape was within their reach but the infected crew attacked en masse. The infected crew took his sister and Ranik was left fighting.

At the same time, a GCP warship commanded by Battle Lord Croft was already en route to the sector. Ranik was saved from the parasites but was imprisoned by the GCP. An offer was made to Ranik, to work off his sentence in service to the Fleet.  The horrors of the incident had changed Ranik and he willingly signed up to serve in order to destroy the parasites.

Jumpgates

satellite image retrieved from server at http://www.darkproject.com/index.html

Jumpgates are points in space that can be folded using a quantum fission hyperceleration device allowing faster than light travel between two distant points (usually the outer perimeter of a star system). Theses devices are located at a static point in space where a satellite will maintain the hypercelerator, and encoded so only sanctioned GCP vessels can pass. There are also survey and exploration vessels journeying to the outer reaches of known space, constantly launching new satellites, to make travelling the galaxy faster and safer.

X42SF "Novastorm" Single Pilot Fighter

  • Size:
    12.5 meters long
  • Weapon:
    plasmatic cannons, quantum torpedoes
  • Affiliation:
    Galactic Coalition of Planets
  • Type:
    Single Pilot Fighter
  • Manufacturer:
    TriCephei Corp.
The fuselage of the Novastorm X42SF is characterized by a slightly tapered tubelike shape, flanked by three trionic propulsion units, each attached to a lateral "fin". These fins not only serve as weapon mounts, but also distribute deflector screen energy across the hull. The hull and fins are typically marked with unit and pilot crests.

About two thirds down the length of the ship is the location of the cockpit unit. The landing gear is located on the underside of the fighter in the nose and one each under the lower fins.

The Novastorm has an individualized life support system of comprised of compressors, temperature regulators, and oxygen scrubbing filters. A series of acceleration compensators help isolate the pilot from deadly g-forces generated by high speed maneuvers. There is enough oxygen, fuel and power in a Novastorm for a week of non-combat operations, although maneuvers rarely last more than a few hours.

Behind the cockpit, accessible from both behind the pilot's chair and a belly hatch, is the cargo compartment. It has a capacity of two cubic meters, and is rated for 110 kilograms. Pilots generally store survival and repair gear in this compartment.

The onboard navcomputer, which is accessible via voice and manual control, translates flight data from the hull sensors into engine performance. The Novastorm is powered by a forced gamma fusion reactor housed in the nose of the craft. Once powered, the three trionic propulsion units can attain an impressive NLS (near light speed) velocity.

Species 5874.92 B

The origin of species 5874.92 B is currently unknown, although it is theorized that they arrived from beyond the edge of the galaxy via a hibernation vessel or possibly some heretofore unexplained natural phenomenon. What is known is that they have the capacity to attach themselves to humanoids and certain other species, effectively turning those species into a "host" while slowly consuming their brain matter and other tissue. Once their host dies and begins to decompose, becoming useless to the "parasite", they detach themselves and look for another host. It has also been theorized that species 5874.92 B may use hosts as a receptacle for reproduction, although this has not been proven. Since initial contact, the number of parasites inhabiting the galaxy has grown exponentially.

Inhabitants of 7623.2 planetary system GV 8.5 designate terrestrial 3, or "Earth" as your planet is locally known, I am ChronalMatrix v199238166.245, a sentient galactic computer system servicing the region of the Galactic Coalition of Planets. I have made contact with you via your "internet", using your popular social networks, in hopes of averting disaster. Our sensors have detected a signal emanating from your terrestrial sphere, with a signal reference of 17123.485, common to the unidentified extragalactic species 5874.92 B or the race of "parasites" as they are commonly referred to within the GCP. It is unknown at this time where the signal has originated from, however, it is likely that the parasites are en route to use your planet as a source of fuel and slave labour.

The GCP has been in contact with your leaders and they are working together closely to formulate a defence strategy. In the meantime, it has been determined the fastest way to disemenate vital information to the populace of Earth is via the internet and it's vast array of networking tools.

Please continue to monitor this transmission, as more information packets will be uploaded to your internet as your systems will allow.
